A generalized Tomonaga-Schwinger equation, holding on the entire boundary of a finite spacetime region, has recently been considered as a tool for studying particle scattering amplitudes in background-independent quantum field theory. The equation has been derived using lattice techniques under assumptions on the existence of the continuum limit. Here I show that in the context of continuous Euclidean field theory the equation can be directly derived from the functional integral formalism…
A Note on Efimov Nonlocal and Nonpolynomial Quantum Scalar Field Theory
In the framework of the nonlocal and nonpolynomial quantum theory of the onecomponent scalar ˇeld in D-dimensional spacetime, stated by G. V. Eˇmov, the expansion of the S-matrix is revisited for
On Unitary Evolution in Quantum Field Theory in Curved Spacetime
We investigate the question of unitarity of evolution between hypersurfaces in quantum field theory in curved spacetime from the perspective of the general boundary formulation. Unitarity thus means
On Efimov Nonlocal and Nonpolynomial Quantum Scalar Field Theory
In frames of the nonlocal and nonpolynomial quantum theory of the one component scalar field in $D$-dimensional spacetime, stated by Gariy Vladimirovich Efimov, the expansion of the

Second-order amplitudes in loop quantum gravity
We explore some second-order amplitudes in loop quantum gravity. In particular, we compute some second-order contributions to diagonal components of the graviton propagator in the large distance
PROBABILITY IN RELATIVISTIC QUANTUM MECHANICS AND FOLIATION OF SPACE–TIME
The conserved probability densities (attributed to the conserved currents derived from relativistic wave equations) should be nonnegative and the integral of them over an entire hypersurface should
General boundary quantum field theory: Foundations and probability interpretation
We elaborate on the proposed general boundary formulation as an extension of standard quantum mechanics to arbitrary (or no) backgrounds. Temporal transition amplitudes are generalized to amplitudes
Holomorphic quantization of linear field theory in the general boundary formulation
We present a rigorous quantization scheme that yields a quantum field theory in general boundary form starting from a linear field theory. Following a geometric quantization approach in the Kahler
Background independence in a nutshell: the dynamics of a tetrahedron
We study how physical information can be extracted from a background-independent quantum system. We use an extremely simple 'minimalist' system that models a finite region of 3D Euclidean quantum

GENERALIZED SCHRÖDINGER EQUATION IN EUCLIDEAN FIELD THEORY
We investigate the idea of a "general boundary" formulation of quantum field theory in the context of the Euclidean free scalar field. We propose a precise definition for an evolution kernel that
