Landraces of commonb ean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) from Chile are
a phenotypically diverse group whose relationship to the two major
gene pools (Andeana nd Mesoamericani)s unclear. The genetic composition
of 69 Chileanl andraces, 15 commerciaclu itivars growni n Chile,
and 11 previously characterized check accessions was examined using
RAPDs (random amplified polymorphic DNA). The 25 primers used
generated 106 polymorphic bands. A genetic distance (GD) matrix
based on simple matching of…

Genetic diversity and origin of slovene common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) germplasm as revealed by AFLP markers and phaseolin analysis
- Biology
- 2006
A set of Slovene accessions formed a well-defi ned sub-group within the Andean cluster, showing their unique genetic structure, which was supported by phaseolin analysis, which also revealed additional vari- ants of "C" and "T" phaseolin types.
Genetic Diversity among Wild Common Beans from Northwestern Argentina Based on Morpho-agronomic and RAPD Data
- BiologyGenetic Resources and Crop Evolution
- 2004
The genetic diversity among 10 wild populations of common bean Phaseolusvulgaris var. aborigineus was analyzed by means of RAPD markers and morpho-agronomic data. The study was performed on…
Estimating genetic diversity in Greek durum wheat landraces with RAPD markers
- Biology
- 2005
Using the random amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD) method, the genetic diversity of 19 Greek landraces and 9 cultivars of durum wheat was studied and the T. monococcum cultivar stood apart from all other genotypes.
Evaluation of genetic divergence among traditional accessions of common bean by using RAPD molecular markers
- Biology
- 2011
The precise genetic divergence pattern that was uncovered allowed to distinguish Andean and Mesoamerican genotypes and the best strategy to be adopted is the use of the combination Mulatinho Vagem Roxa B x Jalo in interpopulational breeding program in order to obtain superior segregants.
Genetic diversity assessment among Corema album (L.) D. Don (Ericaceae) genotypes based on ISSR markers and agro-morphological traits
- BiologyGenetic Resources and Crop Evolution
- 2019
The analysis of morphological traits revealed that there is no distinct among the C. album genotypes grown in different geographic areas, and analysis of molecular variance was higher among populations, than within populations.
RAPD Marker Variation among Smooth Bromegrass Cultivars
- Biology
- 2003
Analysis of molecular variance showed the largest interpopulation genetic variation for contemporary germplasm sources, supporting morphological studies for the existence of genetic variability among contemporary smooth bromegrass germplasms and suggesting that landrace cultivars likely remain useful for germ plasm improvement and cultivar development.
Microsatellite characterization of Andean races of common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.)
- Medicine, BiologyTheoretical and Applied Genetics
- 2007
Results of this study suggest that the morphological classification of all climbing beans as Peru race genotypes and all bush beans as Nueva Granada race genotype is erroneous and that growth habit traits have been mixed in both races, requiring a re-adjustment in the concept of morphological races in Andean beans.
Agro-morphological and molecular variability in Triticum boeoticum accessions from Zagros Mountains, Iran
- BiologyGenetic Resources and Crop Evolution
- 2016
A remarkable level of genetic diversity among studied Iranian T. boeoticum accessions is revealed; especially accessions collected from Kermanshah and Lorestan provinces, which can be of interest for future breeding programs and conservation of germplasm of these areas is recommended.

Evaluated the diversity of a set of accessions from the NPGS-USDA core collection at the morphological and molecular level in order to extract some valuable accessions for Brazilian red clover breeding programs, finding genetic diversity measured with SSR markers was high.
