We undertook to document sex differences in the prevalence of knee osteoarthritis (OA) at different disease stages in an elderly Korean population. Prevalence of 3 stages of knee OA (radiographic OA, severe radiographic OA, and candidacy for total knee arthroplasty [TKA]) was investigated in 696 elderly (≥65 years old) Korean subjects.
