A study has been made of the evidence for gender-related systematics in the proposal review processes for the four facilities operated by NRAO: the Jansky Very Large Array (JVLA; hereafter VLA), the Very Long Baseline Array (VLBA), the Green Bank Telescope (GBT) and the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array (ALMA) in Chile which is operated by NRAO/AUI in partnership with the European Southern Observatory (ESO) and the National Astronomical Observatories of Japan (NAOJ), in cooperation…

The results from the ALMA proposal peer review process in Cycles 0–6 are analyzed to identify any systematics in the scientific rankings that may signify bias. Proposal rankings are analyzed with
Sex-disaggregated systematics in Canadian time allocation committee telescope proposal reviews
Recent studies have shown that the proposal peer review processes employed by a variety of organizations to allocate astronomical telescope time produce outcomes that are systematically biased
The Nonbinary Fraction: Looking Towards the Future of Gender Equity in Astronomy
Gender equity is one of the biggest issues facing the field of astrophysics, and there is broad interest in addressing gender disparities within astronomy. Many studies of these topics have been
Participation of women scientists in ESA Solar System missions: an historical trend
<p>We analyzed the participation of women scientists in 10 ESA (European Space Agency) Solar System missions over a period of 38 years [1]. Being part of a spacecraft mission science team can be
The Leaky Pipeline for Postdocs: A study of the time between receiving a PhD and securing a faculty job for male and female astronomers
The transition between receiving a PhD and securing a tenure track faculty position is challenging for nearly every astronomer interested in working in academia. Here we use a publicly available
Inequalities faced by women in access to permanent positions in astronomy in France
A recent national survey on behalf of the French Society of Astronomy and Astrophysics highlights the elitism and gender discrimination faced by women — particularly women educated in universities
Prestige Bias on Time Allocation Committees?
(No abstract for this journals: article commences: ) Fairness is a key issue in the careers of astronomers. I examine here the anecdota l suggestion that "you're more likely to get time if you're on

Gender Systematics in Telescope Time Allocation at ESO
TLDR
The results of a comprehensive statistical analysis of gender systematics in the time allocation process at ESO are presented and a small, but statistically significant, gender-dependent behaviour is measured for the OPC referees: both genders show the same systematics, but they are larger for males than females.
Gender-based Systematics in HST Proposal Selection
Proposal success rates are calculated for HST Cycles 11 through 21 as a function of the gender of the Principal Investigator (PI). In each cycle, proposals with male PIs have a higher success rate,
Astrostatistics : Goodness-ofFit and All That !
We consider the problem of fitting a parametric model to an astronomical dataset. This occurs when fitting simple heuristic models (e.g. powerlaw relation in a bivariate scatter diagram) or complex
