In the present work the gauge invariance of causal Yang-Mills theory will be proven with the aid of the gauge-factor group. For that purpose it must be shown, that the operator valued distributions T_n and D_n(ret) occurring in the causal S-matrix construction can be written, after applying the gauge variation d_Q, as a divergence. Since merely local terms lead to gauge destroying expressions, one has to focus on them exclusively. In the first part of the work the local gauge-factor group will…

Causal construction of Yang-Mills theories

SummaryPure quantized Yang-Mills theories are constructed by causalperturbation theory. We study operator gauge transformations which lead in a natural way to the introduction of ghost fields.

Calculation of BRS cohomology with spectral sequences

A method for finding the general form of the BRS cohomology spaceH for the various gauge and supersymmetry theories is presented. The method is adapted for use in the space of integrated local

Causal construction of Yang-Mills theories

SummaryWe prove perturbative unitarity of theS-matrix on the physical Hilbert space for Yang-Mills theories with matter fields in the causal approach. Here unitarity is a direct consequence of gauge

The Role of locality in perturbation theory

It is shown how an inductive construction of the renormalized perturbation series of quantum field theory automatically yields, at each order, finite terms satisfying the requirements of locality.

Invariant tensors inSU (3)

It is shown that this approach allows us to obtain relations among the invariant tensors, and useful new identities involving thedijk andfijk tensors are exhibited.

NON-ABELIAN GAUGE THEORIES AS A CONSEQUENCE OF PERTURBATIVE QUANTUM GAUGE INVARIANCE

We show for the case of interacting massless vector bosons, how the structure of Yang–Mills theories emerges automatically from a more fundamental concept, namely perturbative quantum gauge
