We construct a galaxy groups catalogue from the public 100-K data release of the 2dF Galaxy Redshift Survey. The group identification is carried out using a slightly modified version of the group-finding algorithm developed by Huchra & Geller. Several tests using mock catalogues allow us to find the optimal conditions to increase the reliability of the final group sample. A minimum number of four members, an outer number density enhancement of 80 and a linking radial cut-off of 200 km s' are…

Galaxy groups in the 2dFGRS: the group-finding algorithm and the 2PIGG catalogue
The construction of a catalogue of galaxy groups from the 2-degree Field Galaxy Redshift Survey (2dFGRS) is described. Groups are identified by means of a friends-offriends percolation algorithm
Galaxy groups in the 2dF Galaxy Redshift Survey: large-scale structure with groups
We use the 2dF Galaxy Group Catalogue constructed by Merchan & Zandivarez to study the large-scale structure of the Universe traced by galaxy groups. We concentrate on the computation of the power
Clusters and groups of galaxies in the 2dF galaxy redshift survey: A new catalogue
We create a new catalogue of groups and clusters, applying the friends-of-friends method to the 2dF GRS final release. We investigate various selection effects due to the use of a magnitude limited
Galaxy groups in the 2dF Galaxy Redshift Survey: luminosity and mass statistics
Several statistics are applied to groups and galaxies in groups in the Two degree Field Galaxy Redshift Survey. Firstly we estimate the luminosity functions for different subsets of galaxies in
The 2dF Galaxy Redshift Survey: the clustering of galaxy groups
We measure the clustering of galaxy groups in the 2dFGRS Percolation-Inferred Galaxy Group (2PIGG) catalogue. The 2PIGG sample has 28 877 groups with at least two members. The clustering amplitude of
Two Degree Field Galaxy Redshift Survey and Sloan Digital Sky Survey Galaxy Group Density Profiles
We have analyzed the distribution of galaxies in groups identified in the largest redshift surveys available at present: the final release of the 2dF Galaxy Redshift Survey and the first release of
Searching for galaxy clusters in the Kilo-Degree Survey
In this paper, we present the tools used to search for galaxy clusters in the Kilo Degree Survey (KiDS), and our first results. The cluster detection is based on an implementation of the optimal
Galaxy Groups in the SDSS DR4. I. The Catalog and Basic Properties
We use a modified version of the halo-based group finder developed by Yang et al. to select galaxy groups from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS DR4). In the first step, a combination of two methods
Percolation Galaxy Groups and Clusters in the SDSS Redshift Survey: Identification, Catalogs, and the Multiplicity Function
We identify galaxy groups and clusters in volume-limited samples of the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) redshift survey, using a redshift-space friends-of-friends algorithm. We optimize the
Galaxy groups in the third data release of the sloan digital sky survey
We present a new sample of galaxy groups identified in the Sloan Digital Sky Survey Data Release 3. Following previous works, we use the well-tested friends-of-friends algorithm developed by Huchra

The 2dF Galaxy Redshift Survey: a targeted study of catalogued clusters of galaxies
We have carried out a study of known clusters within the 2dF Galaxy Redshift Survey (2dFGRS) observed areas and have identified 431 Abell, 173 APM and 343 EDCC clusters. Precise redshifts, velocity
Nearby Optical Galaxies: Selection of the Sample and Identification of Groups
In this paper we describe the Nearby Optical Galaxy (NOG) sample, which is a complete, distance-limited (cz ≤ 6000 km s-1) and magnitude-limited (B ≤ 14) sample of ~7000 optical galaxies. The sample
Correlation Function of Galaxy Groups
We use the Updated Zwicky Catalog of galaxies to generate a catalog of groups by means of a friends-of-friends algorithm. The groups identified have four or more members and a surrounding density
The 2dF Galaxy Redshift Survey: luminosity dependence of galaxy clustering
We investigate the dependence of the strength of galaxy clustering on intrinsic luminos- ity using the Anglo-Australian two degree field galaxy redshift survey (2dFGRS). The 2dFGRS is over an order
The 2dF Galaxy Redshift Survey: the power spectrum and the matter content of the Universe
The 2dF Galaxy Redshift Survey has now measured in excess of 160 000 galaxy redshifts. This paper presents the power spectrum of the galaxy distribution, calculated using a direct Fourier transform
The APM Galaxy Survey — III. An analysis of systematic errors in the angular correlation function and cosmological implications
We present measurements of the angular two-point galaxy correlation function, $w(theta)$, from the APM Galaxy Survey. The performance of various estimators of $w$ is assessed using simulated galaxy
Velocity dispersions in galaxy clusters
We analyze the velocity dispersions of 79 galaxy clusters having at least 30 galaxies with available redshifts. We show that different estimates of velocity dispersion give similar results on cluster
The APM galaxy survey. I - APM measurements and star-galaxy separation
Un survey de 20 millions d'images plus brillantes que b J = 22 a ete construit dans une aire de 4300 degres carres couvrant la calotte galactique sud. Le survey est base sur 185 plaques contigues a
Hydra: An Adaptive--Mesh Implementation of PPPM--SPH
We present an implementation of Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH) in an adaptive-mesh PPPM algorithm. The code evolves a mixture of purely gravitational particles and gas particles. The code
Galaxy correlations on large scales
La fonction de correlation angulaire a 2 points est analysee pour un echantillon de plus de 2 millions de galaxies plus brillantes que bj=20.5. L'agencement de ces galaxies a grande echelle est etudie
