We develop a new method which measures the projected density distribution wp (rp )n of photometric galaxies surrounding a set of spectroscopically identified galaxies and simultaneously the projected cross-correlation function wp (rp ) between the two populations. In this method, we are able to divide the photometric galaxies into subsamples in luminosity intervals even when redshift information is unavailable, enabling us to measure wp (rp )n and wp (rp ) as a function of not only the… Expand

In a recent study, we developed a method that models the impact of photometric redshift uncertainty on the two-point correlation function (2PCF). Using this method, we simultaneously obtained bothExpand
Accurate Modeling of the Projected Galaxy Clustering in Photometric Surveys. I. Tests with Mock Catalogs

Autocorrelations of stellar light and mass at z∼ 0 and ∼1: from SDSS to DEEP2
We present measurements of projected autocorrelation functions wp(rp) for the stellar mass of galaxies and for their light in the U, B and V bands, using data from the third data release of the DEEP2Expand
In fiber-fed galaxy redshift surveys, the finite size of the fiber plugs prevents two fibers from being placed too close to one another, limiting the ability to study galaxy clustering on all scales.Expand
Using the Modified Nearest Neighbor Method to Correct Fiber-collision Effects on Galaxy Clustering
Fiber collision is a persistent problem faced by modern spectroscopic galaxy surveys. In this work, we propose a new method to correct for this undesired effect, focusing on the clustering from theExpand
Dependence of the clustering properties of galaxies on galaxy age
Abstract From the Main galaxy data of the Sloan Digital Sky Survey Data Release 10 (SDSS DR10), we construct two volume-limited samples with the luminosity −20.5 ≤ M r  ≤−18.5 and −22.5 ≤ M r Expand
The influence of superstructures on bright galaxy environments: clustering properties
We analyse the dependence of clustering properties of galaxies as a function of their large-scale environment. In order to characterize the environment on large scales, we use the catalogue of futureExpand

Luminosity dependence of the spatial and velocity distributions of galaxies: semi-analytic models versus the Sloan Digital Sky Survey
By comparing semi-analytic galaxy catalogues with data from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS), we show that current galaxy formation models reproduce qualitatively the dependence of galaxyExpand
Galaxy Clustering in the Completed SDSS Redshift Survey: The Dependence on Color and Luminosity
We measure the luminosity and color dependence of galaxy clustering in the largest-ever galaxy redshift survey, the main galaxy sample of the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) Seventh Data ReleaseExpand
Constraining the Projected Radial Distribution of Galactic Satellites with the Sloan Digital Sky Survey
We use the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) spectroscopic sample to constrain the projected radial distribution of satellites around isolated ~L* galaxies. We employ mock galaxy catalogs derived fromExpand

The Halo Occupation Distribution: Toward an Empirical Determination of the Relation between Galaxies and Mass
We investigate galaxy bias in the framework of the halo occupation distribution (HOD), which defines the bias of a population of galaxies by the conditional probability P(N|M) that a dark matter haloExpand
The dependence of velocity and clustering statistics on galaxy properties
We use a combination of N-body simulations of the hierarchical clustering of dark matter and semi-analytic modelling of the physics of galaxy formation to probe the relationship between the galaxyExpand
