The Hipparcos proper motions of 220 galactic Cepheids, together with relevant ground-based photometry, have been analysed. The effects of galactic rotation are very clearly seen. Mean values of the Oort constants, A = 14.82 +/- 0.84 km/s/kpc, and B = -12.37 +/- 0.64 km/s/kpc, and of the angular velocity of circular rotation at the Sun, Omega_0 = 27.19 +/- 0.87 km/s/kpc, are derived. Comparison of the value of A with values derived from recent radial velocity solutions confirm, within the errors… Expand

Galactic Interior Motions Derived from Hipparcos Proper Motions. I. Young Disk Population
Analyzing Hipparcos proper motions of 1352 O–B5 stars other than the Gould belt stars, which are representative of the young disk population, we have found a clear stellar warping motion that is aExpand
Galactic kinematics derived from classical cepheids
Abstract On the basis of radial velocity and Hipparcos proper motion data, we have analyzed the galactic kinematics of classical Cepheids. Using the 3-D Ogorodnikov-Milne model we have determined theExpand
Galactic rotation in Gaia DR1
The spatial variations of the velocity field of local stars provide direct evidence of Galactic differential rotation. The local divergence, shear, and vorticity of the velocity field---theExpand
Mira kinematics from Hipparcos data: a Galactic bar to beyond the Solar circle
The space motions of Mira variables are derived from radial velocities, Hipparcos proper motions and a period–luminosity relation. The previously known dependence of Mira kinematics on the period ofExpand
Estimation of the galactic spiral pattern speed from Cepheids
To study the peculiarities of the Galactic spiral density wave, we have analyzed the space velocities of Galactic Cepheids with propermotions from the Hipparcos catalog and line-of-sight velocitiesExpand
Estimation of the solar galactocentric distance and galactic rotation velocity from near-solar-circle objects
We have tested the method of determining the solar Galactocentric distance R0 and Galactic rotation velocity V0 modified by Sofue et al. using near-solar-circle objects. The motion of objectsExpand
Analysis of galaxy kinematics based on Cepheids from the Gaia DR2 Catalogue
To construct the rotation curve of the Galaxy, classical Cepheids with proper motions, parallaxes and line-of-sight velocities from the Gaia DR2 Catalog are used in large part. The working sampleExpand
Rotation Curve of the Milky Way from Classical Cepheids
Flat rotation curves of spiral galaxies are considered as an evidence for dark matter, but the rotation curve of the Milky Way is difficult to measure. Various objects were used to track the rotationExpand
Cepheid kinematics and the Galactic warp
The space velocities of 200 long-period (P>5 days) classical Cepheids with known proper motions and line-of-sight velocities whose distances were estimated from the period-luminosity relation haveExpand
Local Kinematics of Classical Cepheids
Combining Hipparcos proper motions and the radial velocity data, we have studied the Cepheid kinematics on the basis of the three-dimensional Ogorodnikov-Milne model. The results seem to show aExpand
