We estimate galaxy clustering under a modified gravitational potential. In particular, the modifications in gravitational potential energy occur due to a power-law and cosmological constant terms. We derive a canonical partition function for the system of galaxies interacting under such a modified gravitational potential. Moreover, we compute various thermodynamical equation of states for the system. We do comparative analysis in order to emphasize the effect of corrections on thermodynamics of… Expand

Thermodynamics and galactic clustering with a modified gravitational potential
Based on thermodynamics, we study the galactic clustering of an expanding Universe by considering the logarithmic and volume (quantum) corrections to Newton's law along with the repulsive effect of aExpand
Thermodynamics and phase transitions of galactic clustering in higher-order modified gravity
We study the thermodynamics of galactic clustering under the higher-order corrected Newtonian dynamics. The clustering of galaxies is considered as a gravitational phase transition. In order to studyExpand
Effects of cosmological constant on clustering of Galaxies
In this paper, we analyse the effect of the expansion of the universe on the clustering of galaxies. We evaluate the configurational integral for interacting system of galaxies in an expandingExpand
Large Distance Modification of Newtonian Potential and Structure Formation in Universe
In this paper, we study the effects of super-light brane world perturbative modes on structure formation in our universe. As these modes modify the large distance behavior of Newtonian potential,Expand
Clustering of galaxies with f(R) gravity
Based on thermodynamics, we discuss the galactic clustering of expanding Universe by assuming the gravitational interaction through the modified Newton's potential given by $f(R)$ gravity. We computeExpand
Clustering of galaxies with dynamical dark energy
In this paper, we study thermodynamics of the cluster of galaxies under the effect of dynamical dark energy. We evaluate the configurational integral for interacting system of galaxies in anExpand
Statistical Mechanics of the Cosmological Many-body Problem and its Relation to Galaxy Clustering
The cosmological many-body problem is effectively an infinite system of gravitationally interacting masses in an expanding universe. Despite the interactions' long-range nature, an analytical theoryExpand
Modelling clusters of galaxies by f(R)-gravity
We consider the possibility that masses and gravitational potentials of galaxy cluster, estimated at X-ray wavelengths, could be explained without assuming huge amounts of dark matter, but in theExpand
Time dependent dark energy and the thermodynamics of many-body systems
In this paper, we study the thermodynamics and statistics of the galaxies clustering affected by the dynamical dark energy. We consider two important dark energy models based on time dependentExpand
Modified Newtonian dynamics and the "dearth of dark matter in ordinary elliptical galaxies"
The recent findings of Romanowsky et al., of an "unexpectedly" small mass discrepancy within 5 effective radii in several elliptical galaxies, are not surprising in the context of modified NewtonianExpand
