This paper attempts to explain the determinants of aggregate GDP growth in the United Arab Emirates as a representative oil-dependent country. After discussing the performance of the country in the period considered, the determinants of GDP growth were examined. Similar to previous studies, this study confirms the predominance of labor in total GDP growth and a negative contribution by Total Factor Productivity Growth to overall GDP growth (TFPG).
