BACKGROUND The cause and consequences of impaired adrenergic signaling in right ventricular failure/hypertrophy (RVH) are poorly understood. We hypothesized that G protein-coupled receptor kinase-2 (GRK2)-mediated uncoupling of β-adrenergic receptor signaling impairs inotropic reserve.
