GAS CONCENTRATION IN THE ROOT ZONE OF ROSA HYBRIDA L. GROWN IN DIFFERENT GROWING MEDIA
@inproceedings{Schroeder2005GASCI, title={GAS CONCENTRATION IN THE ROOT ZONE OF ROSA HYBRIDA L. GROWN IN DIFFERENT GROWING MEDIA}, author={F. G. Schroeder and K. Engwicht}, year={2005} }
The subject of this study was to get more information about the root zone, mainly the gas composition in growing media, which is used in hydroponic systems. Besides the plant growth parameters of roses, yield and nutrient uptake, the results of the gas concentrations in the root zone are presented. Gas sampling at 2 or 3 heights from root zone did function well, results ranged from 530 ppm to 1570 ppm CO2. Results are significant between the different substrates and measurement spots within one…

Influence of Nutrient Solution Temperature on Its Oxygen Level and Growth, Yield and Quality of Hydroponic Cucumber
- BiologyJournal of Agricultural Science
- 2019
This study revealed that availability of optimum aeration in nutrient solution through cooling of nutrient solution temperature could be of significance for boosting cucumber yield as observed during all the growing periods especially in summer in Oman.
The impact of aeration on potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) minituber production under soilless conditions
- Biology
- 2015
In both cultivars examined, increasing the level of aeration led to higher number of stolons and tubers, which resulted in a remarkable rise in the total minituber number up to 3600/m 2 which were 70% higher compared to the non-aerated group.
