In this paper, the fuzzy scalar median (FSM) is proposed, defined by using ordering of fuzzy numbers based on fuzzy minimum and maximum operations defined by using the extension principle. Alternatively, the FSM is defined from the minimization of a fuzzy distance measure, and the equivalence of the two definitions is proven. Then, the fuzzy vector median (FVM) is proposed as an extension of vector median, based on a novel distance definition of fuzzy vectors, which satisfy the property of…
Fuzzy Directional-Distance Vector Filter
TLDR
A novel fuzzy metric is used to measure magnitude and directional fuzzy distances between image vectors and a variant of the DDF using this fuzzy metricis proposed, which is computationally cheaper than the classical DDF.
Fuzzy Techniques in Digital Image Processing and Shape Analysis
In this chapter, an overview of the applications of several fuzzy operators in image processing and analysis is presented. First, the fuzzy location and scale estimators based on the extension

TLDR
Simulation studies indicate that the filters are computationally attractive and have excellent performance such as edge and details preservation and accurate chromaticity estimation.
New adaptive vector filter using fuzzy metrics
TLDR
A class of fuzzy metrics is used to introduce a vector filter aimed at improving the detail-preserving ability of classical vector filters while effectively removing impulsive noise.
An interval-valued fuzzy distance measure between two interval-valued fuzzy numbers
TLDR
An interval-valued fuzzy distance measure was first suggested and some of its main properties were investigated via some theorems and lemmas and compared with the results obtained by other studies.

A Scalar Median Filter Algorithm Based on the Rotation of Color Space
TLDR
A scalar median filter algorithm for color image based on the rotation of color space that not only makes the filter computationally simpler, but also preserves the image details well while effectively suppressing impulsive noises.
RATIONAL-BASED ADAPTIVE FUZZY FILTERS
TLDR
Simulation results illustrate the strong potential of the new adaptive fuzzy filters for multichannel signal applications, such as color image processing, which are computationally attractive and achieve noise attenuation, chromaticity retention and, edges and details preservation.
