Constraint satisfaction is a fundamental Artificial Intelligence technique for knowledge representation and inference. However, the formulation of a static constraint satisfaction problem (CSP) with hard, imperative constraints is insufficient to model many real problems. Fuzzy constraint satisfaction provides a more graded viewpoint.
