In this study we constructed an artificial flavohemoprotein by fusing Vitreoscilla hemoglobin (VHb) with D-amino acid oxidase (DAO) of Rhodotorula gracilis to determine whether bacterial hemoglobin can be used as an oxygen donor to immobilized flavoenzyme.
