A report is given of the infection levels of Coelomomyces beirnei and of Coelomomyces chironomi var. canadense in chironomids in Marion Lake, British Columbia. The former species has a wide host range and infections appear to occur at random.

Blastocladian parasites of invertebrates
TLDR
It is proposed that zoosporic fungal parasites contribute significantly to the biodiversity and the complexity of the food webs in freshwater and soil ecosystems and that new roles for Blastocladian parasites in food web dynamics have recently been discovered. Expand
Fungal and oomycete parasites of Chironomidae, Ceratopogonidae and Simuliidae (Culicomorpha, Diptera)
TLDR
The information on fungal and oomycete parasites of these dipteran groups with special reference to the natural regulation of host populations, the impact of parasitism in food webs, and the potential of these parasites as biocontrol agents is reviewed. Expand

ECOLOGY OF THE EPIPELIC ALGAL COMMUNITIES IN MARION LAKE, BRITISH COLUMBIA 1, 2
TLDR
The study supports the idea that epipelic algal growth is high in shallow, low nutrient lakes and that the epipeli algal productivity is extremely important to the total energy budget of the lake. Expand
