Recent publications have addressed the topic of an important regulator of the extrinsic pathway, the tissue factor pathway inhibitor (TFPI). Tissue factor-dependent reactions are regulated by TFPI, a member of a superfamily of proteins, homologous to aprotinin (Kunitz).
