1. Muscarinic receptor antagonists were examined in direct binding studies on guinea-pig cardiac and cortical muscarinic receptors. Pirenzepine, dicyclomine and hexahydroadiphenine were shown to be selective ligands for the putative M1-muscarinic receptor. 2.
