More than two decades ago, philosopher of biology Michael Ruse testified as an expert witness for the plaintiffs in the Federal District Court case, McLean v. Arkansas Board of Education (529 F. Supp. ED Ark. 1982). The plaintiffs in that case challenged the constitutionality of an Arkansas law that had recently been passed by the state legislature.
