This paper presents some results arising from the development of a prototype tool concerned with the automatic mapping of process models captured using Role Activity Diagrams (RADs), to the input to a Discrete Event simulator. The key element in our work is to establish, as a rst step, the diierences and common features between the concept domain in RADs and Discrete Event Simulation (DES) Modelling.
