—New general rules have been developed for designing complex controllers under constraints on robustness and sensitivity to measurement noise. The design is based on a compromise between robustness and performance. This solution makes possible obtaining practically realizable complex controllers. It is shown that the proposed method results into considerably better performance and robustness indices, compared to those obtained by the optimal PID controller.
