Frequencies of the Buddhist Meditative Chant – Om Mani Padme Hum

title={Frequencies of the Buddhist Meditative Chant – Om Mani Padme Hum},
  author={Contzen Pereira},
Om Mani Padme Hum is a six syllable mantra in Tibetian Buddhism associated with the bodhisattva – Avalokitesvara. This mantra as known by the Buddhist generates positive energies within the body through mystical vibrations and frequencies when chanted repeatedly. The mantra has shown enhanced cognitive effects in organisms without auditory apparatus where the interaction is assumed to be taking place at a cellular and biochemical level (Pereira 2015a, b; Pereira 2016a,b). Based on the results…

A comparative study of frequencies of a Buddhist mantra
Chanting of a mantra is the perfect way of awakening the consciousness within and can demonstrate a therapeutic effect on the body. This study is a comparison of frequencies of two wellknown mantras
Review of scientific analysis of sacred sound OM (AUM)
Since ancient times sacred sounds like "OM", Gayatri Mantra and Mrutunjay Mantra etc. have played a major role not only culturally but also in keeping mentally and physically healthy. From available
Effect of tuning fork generated frequencies on cognition in snails (Achatina fulica)
It was evident that exposure to 320 Hz frequency enhanced the cognitive capacity of the brain in snails Achatina fulica which maybe a direct effect of the vibrations created at this frequency at a cellular level.
Effects of Tibetan Music on Neuroendocrine and Autonomic Functions in Patients Waiting for Surgery: A Randomized, Controlled Study
The results suggest that preoperative listening to relaxing Tibetan music might be a useful strategy to manage preoperative anxiety.

Rumination of Music on Buddhism and Hinduism
Universe is Naad i.e. The sound and the vibration. Universe has originated from the pattern of frequency and therefore the matters that seem firm including the emotional, physical and mental and even
Analysis Of Acoustic of "OM" Chant To Study It's Effect on Nervous System
Summary OM does not have a translation. Therefore, the Hindus consider it as the very name of the Absolute, it is body of sound. In the scriptures of ancient India, the OM is considered as the most
Effect of hypothermia on cognitive capabilities in snail (Achatina fulica) and their recovery post exposure to the Buddhist meditative chant “Om Mani Padme Hum”
The results of these studies confirm that the “Om Mani Padme Hum” meditative chant generates vibrations that can augments cognitive capacity of the brain and simultaneously demonstrate significant therapeutic effects.
Music enhances cognitive-related behaviour in snails ( Achatina fulica )
The results of the studies confirmed that sound generated vibrations augments cognitive capacity of the brain and at reduced variation in frequencies can enhance learning ability with an increase in short-term memory gain.
Prisoners of Shangri-La: Tibetan Buddhism and the West
In this book, Lopez eloquently argues that the Western romance of Shangri-la isolates Tibet from the quotidian world and denies Tibetans their agency in constituting such a world. Although, as Lopez
Enhanced cognitive effects in snails (Physa acuta) after exposure to meditational music and low-level near-infrared laser
It is confirmed that low level near infrared light and sound vibrations at 260 – 280 Hz induce a significant effect on the neural system at a cellular level, which is evident with the enhanced cognitive abilities; the mechanisms for which need to be evaluated further.
The Effect of Music on the Human Stress Response
Listening to music prior to a standardized stressor predominantly affected the autonomic nervous system, and to a lesser degree the endocrine and psychological stress response, which may help better understanding the beneficial effects of music on the human body.
Effect of Vedic chanting on memory and sustained attention
Researches and studies have shown that Yogasanas, Pranayama and meditation help in enhancing memory and improving attention, but no study is available on the effect of traditional Vedic chanting on
Hypothermia induced reversible state of unconsciousness/ insentience in snails (Achatina fulica) and the therapeutic effect of a meditative chant on this state
Unconsciousness in humans or insentience in animals is a state when a living being or organism is unaware or lacks the ability of perceiving its self or its environment. Proving consciousness or
Direct effects of music in non-auditory cells in culture.
The results obtained suggest that music can alter cellular morpho-functional parameters, such as cell size and granularity in cultured cells, suggesting that music or audible sounds could modulate physiological and pathophysiological processes.
