Free Yang-Mills vs. Toric Sasaki-Einstein
@inproceedings{Nishioka2007FreeYV, title={Free Yang-Mills vs. Toric Sasaki-Einstein}, author={Tatsuma Nishioka and Tadashi Takayanagi}, year={2007} }
It has been known that the Bekenstein-Hawking entropy of the black hole in AdS 5 × S 5 agrees with the free N = 4 super Yang-Mills entropy up to the famous factor 43 . This factor can be interpreted as the ratio of the entropy of the free Yang-Mills to the entropy of the strongly coupled Yang-Mills. In this paper we compute an analogous factor for infinitely many N = 1 SCFTs which are dual to toric Sasaki-Einstein manifolds. We observed that this ratio always takes values within a narrow range…

Phase Transitions of Charged Kerr-AdS Black Holes from Large-N Gauge Theories
- Physics
- 2008
We study N = 4 super Yang-Mills theories on a three-sphere with two types of chemical potential. One is associated with the R-symmetry and the other with the rotational symmetry of S 3 (SO(4)…
Eschenburg space as gravity dual of flavored = 4 Chern-Simons-matter theory
- Physics
- 2009
We find a 3D flavored = 4 Chern-Simons-matter theory, a kind of = 3 SCFT, has a gravity dual AdS4 × 7(t1, t2, t3) where three coprime parameters can be read off according to the number and charge of…
Holographic entanglement entropy: an overview
- Physics
- 2009
In this paper, we review recent progress on the holographic understanding of the entanglement entropy in the anti-de Sitter space/conformal field theory (AdS/CFT) correspondence. In general, the…
Geometric entropy and hagedorn/deconfinement transition
- Physics, Computer Science
- 2008
The geometric entropy is introduced and it is manifestly shown that its value becomes discontinuous at the Hagedorn temperature both in the free = 4 super Yang-Mills and in its supergravity dual.

Dual giant gravitons in AdSm × Yn (Sasaki-Einstein)
- Mathematics
- 2006
We consider BPS motion of dual giant gravitons on AdS5 × Y5 where Y5 represents a five-dimensional Sasaki-Einstein manifold. We find that the phase space for the BPS dual giant gravitons is…
An Infinite Family of Superconformal Quiver Gauge Theories with Sasaki-Einstein Duals
- Mathematics
- 2004
We describe an infinite family of quiver gauge theories that are AdS/CFT dual to a corresponding class of explicit horizon Sasaki-Einstein manifolds. The quivers may be obtained from a family of…
Deformations of conformal theories and non-toric quiver gauge theories
- Mathematics
- 2007
We discuss several examples of non-toric quiver gauge theories dual to Sasaki-Einstein manifolds with U(1)2 or U(1) isometry. We give a general method for constructing non-toric examples by adding…

The correspondence between supergravity (and string theory) on AdS space and boundary conformal field theory relates the thermodynamics of super-Yang–Mills theory in four dimensions to the…
Entropy and temperature of black 3-branes.

We consider slightly nonextremal black 3-branes of type IIB supergravity and show that their Bekenstein-Hawking entropy agrees, up to a mysterious factor, with an entropy derived by counting non-BPS…

The AdS/CFT correspondence between Sasaki-Einstein spaces and quiver gauge theories is studied from the perspective of massless BPS geodesics. The recently constructed toric Lp,q|r geometries are…
