Francesco Paolo Cantelli made fundamental contributions to the foundations of probability theory and to the clarification of different types of probabilistic convergence. He is remembered through the Borel–Cantelli Lemma, the Glivenko–Cantelli Theorem, and Cantelli's Inequality. He also made seminal contributions to actuarial science.

Notes on stochastic processes

A stochastic process is a type of mathematical object studied in mathematics, particularly in probability theory, which shows some type of a randomness. There are many types of stochastic processes

Notes on stochastic processes Paul Keeler

A stochastic process is a type of mathematical object studied in mathematics, particularly in probability theory, which can be used to represent some type of random evolution or change of a system.

Experience Early, Logic Later

This chapter suggests how to complement a problem-based experiential presentation of statistical methods with a presentation of the abstract structures necessary for future applications.

Uncertainty Analysis for the Keyword System of Web Events

A framework to identify the different underlying levels of semantic uncertainty in terms of Web events, and construct a semantic pyramid (SP) to express the uncertainty hierarchy of a Web event is proposed and an SP-based Webpage recommendation system is developed.
