Zeolite HOU-2 (LTA type) is prepared with the highest silica content (Si/Al = 2.1) reported for Na-LTA zeolites without the use of an organic structure-directing agent. The rational design of Si-rich zeolites has the potential to improve their thermal stability for applications in catalysis, gas storage, and selective separations.
Synthesis of High-Silica LTA and UFI Zeolites and NH3–SCR Performance of Their Copper-Exchanged Form
A series of LTA zeolites with Si/Al = 8.3-∞ and a UFI zeolite with Si/Al = 11 are synthesized using benzylimidazolium-based cations as organic structure-directing agents in fluoride media, if
Transformation synthesis of aluminosilicate SSZ-39 zeolite from ZSM-5 and beta zeolite
Aluminosilicate SSZ-39 zeolite has been prepared by transformation from ZSM-5 and beta zeolite in the presence of N,N-diethyl-cis-2,6-dimethylpiperidinium hydroxide.
Zeolite Synthesis: General Aspects
Studies focusing on zeolite synthesis in the field of sol-gel chemistry have been carried out since the 1940s. The large number of studies on this subject is due to both the scientific interest in
Postsynthetic High-Alumina Zeolite Crystal Engineering in Organic-Free Hyper-Alkaline Media
Postsynthetic modification of high-alumina zeolites in hyper-alkaline media can be tailored toward alteration of framework topology, crystal size and morphology, or desired Si/Al ratio. FAU, EMT,
Sustainable Synthesis of Pure Silica Zeolites from a Combined Strategy of Zeolite Seeding and Alcohol Filling.
TLDR
The alcohol could be fully washed out from zeolite pores by water at room temperature, which completely avoids calcination at high temperature for removal of OSDAs in the synthesis of pure silica zeolites.
Synthesis Strategies for Ultrastable Zeolite GIS Polymorphs as Sorbents for Selective Separations.
TLDR
This work presents organic-free syntheses of two polymorphs of the small-pore zeolite P (GIS), P1 and P2, and shows that GIS polymorphs are selective adsorbents for H2 O relative to other light gases.
Organic-Free Synthesis of a Highly Siliceous Faujasite Zeolite with Spatially Biased Q4 (nAl) Si Speciation.
TLDR
These findings suggest that a slow rate of crystallization and/or low concentration of Na+ ions in HOU-3 growth mixtures facilitate Si incorporation into the framework, and achieving higher SAR is desirable for improved zeolite (hydro)thermal stability and enhanced catalytic performance.

TLDR
The overall characterization results of this work demonstrate that sod-cages are first built around the preorganized lta-cage and that d4r-c cages are in turn constructed by the progressive addition of low-molecular-weight (alumino)silicate species, which promotes the formation and growth of embryonic LTA zeolite crystals.
