  • Early warning systems (EWSs) are important for risk management. This chapter develops a framework of an ecotourism EWS which includes hazard risk, carrying capacity of service facilities and tourism sites, and tourism development impact assessment, monitoring and warning. Tourism impact is an emerging research spot. In EWSs, negative tourism impacts should be emphasized, including environmental, economic, and social impacts.
