We studied parallel fracture-induced anisotropy as a function of fracture system configuration and background rock elastic properties using P-wave amplitude versus offset and azimuth (AVOZ). Our modeling incorporates Hudson’s penny-shape crack model with the anisotropic Zoeppritz equations . We derived analytical relation to calculate P-wave AVOZ that works well under and numerically tested a simple the conditions of small contrast, near offset, and weak anisotropy.
