We perform calculations of pre-main sequence evolution of stars from 1 to $85 M_{\odot}$ with growing accretion rates $\dot{M}$. The values of $\dot{M}$ are taken equal to a constant fraction $\tilde{f}$ of the rates of the mass outflows observed by Churchwell ([CITE]) and Henning ([CITE]). The evolution of the various stellar parameters is given, as well as the evolution of the disc luminosity; electronic tables are provided as a supplement to the articles. Typically, the duration of the… Expand

The evolution of supermassive Population III stars
• Physics

Supermassive primordial stars forming in atomically-cooled halos at $z \sim15-20$ are currently thought to be the progenitors of the earliest quasars in the Universe. In this picture, the starExpand

EVOLUTION OF MASSIVE PROTOSTARS VIA DISK ACCRETION
• Physics

Mass accretion onto (proto-)stars at high accretion rates M-dot{sub *}> 10{sup -4} M{sub sun} yr{sup -1} is expected in massive star formation. We study the evolution of massive protostars at suchExpand
On the episodic excursions of massive protostars in the Hertzsprung-Russell diagram
• Physics

Massive protostars grow and evolve under the effect of rapid accretion of circumstellar gas and dust, falling at high rates ($\ge 10^{-4}$-$10^{-3}\, \rm M_{\odot}\, \rm yr^{-1}$). This mass infallExpand
Collapse of molecular cloud cores with radiation transfer: Formation of massive stars by accretion
• Physics

Most early radiative transfer calculations of protostellar collapse have suggested an upper limit of approx40 M{sub sun} for the final stellar mass before radiation pressure can exceed the star'sExpand
Formation of Massive Stars by Runaway Accretion

Although massive stars play a dominant role in shaping galactic structure and evolution, their origin and early evolution are not well understood mainly because of the lack of a good observationalExpand
Massive star formation in 100,000 years from turbulent and pressurized molecular clouds

It is shown that t*f is determined by the conditions in the star's natal cloud, and is typically ∼105 yr, which is sufficient to overcome radiation pressure from ∼100M[circdot] protostars, while simultaneously driving intense bipolar gas outflows. Expand

Impact of initial models and variable accretion rates on the pre-main-sequence evolution of massive and intermediate-mass stars and the early evolution of H II regions

Massive star formation requires the accretion of gas at high rate while the star is already bright. Its actual luminosity depends sensitively on the stellar structure. We compute pre-main-sequenceExpand
