Formation of gossypurpurin from anhydrogossypol

Abstract

It has been established that gossypurpurin is formed from anhydrogossypol and not from gossypol itself during column chromatography on Chemapol silica gel. This is explained by the high reactivity of anhydrogossypol and the catalytic role of the silica gel. The results obtained permit it to be considered that gossypurpurin is a compound of molecules of… (More)
