We illustrate how de nitions and correctness proofs for the familiar thunk-based simulation of call-by-name by call-by-value can be encoded in the logical framework LF and the logic programming language Elf. This work is part of a survey of logical frameworks applied to formalizing operational semantics and associated meta-theory.
