Abstract The dynamic response of an unsymmetric orthotropic laminated composite beam, subjected to moving loads, has been studied. The study includes the effects of transverse shear deformation, rotary and higher-order inertia. A one-dimensional element with 24 degrees of freedom, that includes extension, bending, and transverse shear deformation has been used.
