The European Union has set the following energy objectives: reinforcing the competitiveness of the European Union; making sure that Europe is energy–independent; protecting the environment and ecological systems. To these objectives the trade union organisations participating in the T.E.N. would like to add: the fight against unemployment. A general consensus would dictate that these objectives cannot be attained simultaneously. Some objectives would be given priority at the expense of others… CONTINUE READING
