  • Gagata youssoufi (Rahman) is a riverine catfish, commonly known as Gang tengra or Kyakata. In Bangladesh it is available in the northern and southern parts and mainly found in Padma, Meghna, Brahmaputra and Jamuna rivers. This fish is also found in many countries like Pakistan, India, Nepal and Burma (Talwar & Jhingran, 1991). Its body length varies from 3.5 to 11 cm.
