PURPOSE To study the therapeutic effect of focused ultrasound on abscesses induced by methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). MRSA is a major nosocomial pathogen where immunocompromised patients are prone to develop infections that are less and less responsive to regular treatments.
