BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVE A common adverse effect of niacin therapy is flushing, manifested by cutaneous warmth, redness, itching and/or tingling. The Flushing ASsessment Tool (FAST) was developed to assess flushing symptoms and their impact on patients receiving niacin therapy.
