This work designed a novel platform for effective sensing of biomolecules by fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET) from quantum dots (QDs) to graphene oxide (GO). The QDs were first modified with a molecular beacon (MB) as a probe to recognize the target analyte. The strong interaction between MB and GO led to the fluorescent quenching of QDs. Upon the recognition of the target, the distance between the QDs and GO increased, and the interaction between target-bound MB and GO became…
Quantum-dot-conjugated graphene oxide as an optical tool for biosensor.
TLDR
It is observed that the quenching of photoluminescence peak of QDs due to GO shell produced an applicable strategy and could be conveniently extended for detection of other biomolecules and obtained significantly enhanced spectral signal through successful conjugation of GO with CdSe/CdS core shell.
Gold nanoparticles-based fluorescence resonance energy transfer for competitive immunoassay of biomolecules.
TLDR
The present method was applied for the determination of IgM in human serum with satisfactory results and exhibits several advantages such as high quenching efficiency and sensitivity, and good specificity toward target versus other analogues.
Graphene oxide based photoinduced charge transfer label-free near-infrared fluorescent biosensor for dopamine.
TLDR
A GO-based photoinduced charge transfer (PCT) label-free near-infrared (near-IR) fluorescent biosensor for dopamine (DA) and was successfully applied to the determination of DA in biological fluids with quantitative recovery.
One-pot synthesized DNA-CdTe quantum dots applied in a biosensor for the detection of sequence-specific oligonucleotides.
TLDR
A biosensor, which is based on FRET from the DNA-functionalized CdTe nanocrystals to graphene, has been developed, that is, DNA–CdTe QDs prepared by a one-pot method, and its successful application in the analytical detection of the hepatitis B virus surface–antigen gene is described for the first time.
Multi-analyte homogenous immunoassay based on quenching of quantum dots by functionalized graphene
TLDR
Graphene functionalized with carboxylic moieties was employed to covalently link the respective antigen and led graphene close enough to QDs to quench the QD fluorescence by resonance energy transfer, a promising universal strategy to develop homogenous immunoassays for diverse antigens in a multi-analyte configuration.
A Graphene Oxide–Based Sensing Platform for The Label-free Assay of DNA Sequence and Exonuclease Activity via Long Range Resonance Energy Transfer
TLDR
Graphene oxide (GO) was introduced as an efficient quencher for label-free and sensitive detection of DNA and could be conveniently extended for detection of other biomolecules, which had been demonstrated by the detection of exonuclease activity.
Aptasensor for amplified IgE sensing based on fluorescence quenching by graphene oxide.
TLDR
The practical application of the proposed aptasensor was successfully carried out for the determination of IgE in human serum samples and was highly selective because the aptamer was unaffected by the presence of immunoglobulin G (IgG), human serum albumin (HSA) and bovine serumalbumin (BSA).
