This study addresses the Polypodiaceae reported on canga formations in Serra dos Carajás, Pará state, presenting descriptions, illustrations and morphological comments. Eight taxa were recorded in the study area, belonging to six genera: Campyloneurum centrobrasilianum, C. phyllitidis, Microgramma lycopodioides, M. persicariifolia, Pecluma plumula, Pleopeltis polypodioides var. burchellii, Phlebodium decumanum and Serpocaulon triseriale.

Ferns and lycophytes from Serra dos Carajás, an Eastern Amazonian mountain range
Abstract In the state of Pará (Brazil), until the beginning of last decade little was known about the composition of the fern and lycophyte flora. The ferruginous mountains of Carajás are located in

A Hybrid Phlebodium (Polypodiaceae, Polypodiophyta) and Its Influence on the Circumscription of the Genus
The discovery of a hybrid between Phlebodium pseudoaureum and Polypodium pleurosorum raises questions about the limits of PhleBodium and necessitates a revised taxonomic circumscription of the genus.
New Combinations in Serpocaulon and a Provisional Key for the Atlantic Rain Forest Species
New combinations for two species of Serpocaulon from southeastern Brazil are presented: S. glandulosissimum and S. sehnemii.
Diversity of ferns and lycophytes in Brazil
This compilation of ferns and lycophytes in Brazil is an update of the one published in 2010 and shows that the richest phytogeographic domain continues to be in the Atlantic Rainforest which also has the largest number of endemic and threatened species.
Serpocaulon (Polypodiaceae), a new genus segregated from Polypodium
The neotropical fern genus Serpocaulon (Polypodiaceae), segregated from Polypodium, is described and new combinations for the forty known species are made, and there appears to be no convenient infrageneric division of the species within SerpOCaulon.
All species of Polypodiaceae that are believed to belong to Pleopeltis are reviewed and 35 species combinations, one varietal combination, and six hybrid combinations are made to include other polypod genera and species with peltate scales on the leaf blades.
A community‐derived classification for extant lycophytes and ferns
A modern, comprehensive classification for lycophytes and ferns, down to the genus level, utilizing a community‐based approach, that uses monophyly as the primary criterion for the recognition of taxa, but also aims to preserve existing taxa and circumscriptions that are both widely accepted and consistent with the understanding of pteridophyte phylogeny.
