Abstract Nine flavonoids have been isolated from Ulex jussiaei and U. minor (Leguminosae). From both species the isoflavonoids ulexin A and the new naturally occurring ulexin B have been identified, together with isoderrone, the pterocarpans (-)-maackiain and (-)-4-methoxymaackiain, and the chalcone isobavachromene. The pterocarpan (-)-2-methoxymaackiain was only present in the first species and the isoflavones isolupalbigenin and ulexone A have been identified in the second one. 13C NMR data… Expand

A new prenylated chalcone from the seeds of Millettia pachycarpa
Abstract Aim To investigate the chemical constituents from the seeds of Millettia pachycarpa . Methods The compounds were isolated and purified by repeated column chromatography. Their structuresExpand
Prenylated isoflavonoids isolated from the leave of Cudrania tricuspidata Carr. Bur
By various chromatography methods, three known isoflavones were isolated from the leave of Cudrania tricuspidata. Their structures were identified to be lupalbigenin (1), isolupalbigenin (2) andExpand
Flavonoids from Cyclopia genistoides and Their Xanthine Oxidase Inhibitory Activity.
Nine compounds are reported for the first time from this species, and six from the genus Cyclopia, and these compounds, together with previously isolated secondary metabolites, were tested for xanthine oxidase inhibitory activity. Expand
Isoflavonoids of the leguminosae.
This account describes 275 new isoflavonoids published between 2008 and 2011 as constituents of the Leguminosae, commenting on their source, identification, biological activity, synthesis, andExpand
Ulex europaeus: from noxious weed to source of valuable isoflavones and flavanones
The screening and quantification of the main phenolic compounds in leaves and flowers of Ulex europaeus (gorse) was carried out by high-performance liquid chromatography with electrospray ionizatioExpand
Pterocarpans: interesting natural products with antifungal activity and other biological properties
A comprehensive inventory of the structures and sources of the pterocarpans is presented, and some of their most interesting biological activities are summarized. Expand
Prenylated isoflavones from Cudrania tricuspidata inhibit NO production in RAW 264.7 macrophages and suppress HL-60 cells proliferation
Inhibitory effects of NO production in RAW 264.7 macrophages guided the isolation of nine prenylated isoflavones, including a new cudraisoflavone L and eight known metabolites from the leaves of Cudrania tricuspidata, showing promising cytotoxic effects toward HL-60 cells. Expand
Antifungal Activity and Studies on Mode of Action of Novel Xanthoxyline‐Derived Chalcones
Results indicate that neither the sole presence of a “xanthoxyline‐like” substitution pattern nor a 2′‐OH substituent on ring A are sufficient for these compounds to have antifungal properties. Expand
Comparison of pancreatic lipase inhibitory isoflavonoids from unripe and ripe fruits of Cudrania tricuspidata
The maturation stage is an important factor for maximum efficacy and that unripe fruits of C. tricuspidata are a good source of new bioactive constituents for the regulation of obesity. Expand
A benzil and isoflavone derivatives from Derris scandens Benth.
Radical scavenging, antibacterial and hypertensive activities of some of the compounds were investigated and their structures were determined by spectroscopic methods. Expand
