Two series of novel phosphorus-containing poly(alkylene) amines with or without aromatic groups were synthesized via reacting phosphoryl chloride derivatives with commercially available polyetheramines, ethylenediamine and N-phenyl-1,4-phenylenediamine, respectively. Chemical structures of the amines were characterized with FTIR, NMR, P (phosphorus) content measurement, and amine content titration. These amines were then utilized as curing agents to react with diglycidyl ether of bisphenol A…

Studies on curing kinetics and thermal behavior of phosphorylated epoxy resin in the presence of aromatic amide-amines

This article describes the synthesis of some novel aromatic amide-amine curing agents by reacting 1 mole of p-amino benzoic acid with 1 mole of each of 1,4-phenylene diamine (P), 1,5-diamino

Green synthesis and characterization of phosphorus flame retardant crosslinking agents for epoxy resins

The flame-retardant efficacy of phosphorus-containing reactive amine hardeners for epoxy resins is well-known; however their synthesis often applies hazardous, objectionable reagents. The aim of this

Effect of DOPO units and of polydimethylsiloxane segments on the properties of epoxy resins

New flame retardant epoxy resins containing phosphorus and/or silicon atoms were prepared by the introduction into the epoxy chemical structure of 9,10-dihydro-9-oxa-10-phosphaphenanthrene-10-oxide

Curing of epoxy resin with poly(m-phenylene methylphosphonate)

The mechanism and kinetics of curing of epoxy resin with poly(m-phenylene methylphosphonate) (PMP) was studied by extraction and swelling experiments, DSC, 31P NMR, and FTIR. It was shown that at

Synthesis and Characterization of Photosensitive Phosphorus Based Polymers Containing α,β‐Unsaturated Ketones in the Main Chain

1,3‐Bis(4‐hydroxyphenyl)propenone (BHPP) and 3‐(4‐hydroxy‐3‐methoxy phenyl)‐1‐(4‐hydroxyphenyl)propenone (HMPHPP) were used as monomers for preparing photosensitive phosphorus containing polyesters.
