Two horizontal flow, laminar airflow type clean rooms have been used for almost all clean orthopedic surgery at St. Luke's Hospital in Denver since March 1971. This experience covers approximately 4000 cases, including 1100 total hip and total knee arthroplasties. Three different types of helmet aspirator systems have also been evaluated.
