The protective efficacy and long-term immunogenicity of a schedule with a reduced number of vaccinations in infants born to mothers positive for hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) has been investigated: 494 infants immunized with a plasma derived hepatitis B vaccine (Hevac B Pasteur) at day 20 after birth and 2 months later were studied.
