Colitis associated colorectal cancer (CAC) is the subtype of colorectal cancer (CRC), CRC is the third most cause of morbidity worldwide. Chronic inflammation caused by oxidative stress is the main risk factor for CAC establishment. Fisetin (3,3’,4’,7 tetrahydroxy flavones) is a dietary flavonoid with major health benefits. This study is aimed to investigate the anti-proliferative effect of Fisetin against azoxymethane (AOM) and Dextran sodium sulfate (DSS) induced CAC. Male Balb/c mice… Expand

Colitis-related rat colon carcinogenesis induced by 1-hydroxy-anthraquinone and methylazoxymethanol acetate (Review).
TLDR
Increased expression in TNF-alpha and IL-1alpha was found in these induced colonic neoplasms, and the expression was more remarkable in colonic mucosa of rats exposed to MAM acetate + 1-HAQ, M AM acetate or 1- HAQ when compared with that in untreated rats. Expand
Anti-inflammatory effects of betaine on AOM/DSS‑induced colon tumorigenesis in ICR male mice.
TLDR
The findings suggest that betaine is one of the candidates for the prevention of inflammation-associated colon carcinogenesis and anti-inflammation and tumor preventing capacity of betaine on colitis-associated cancer in mice. Expand
Dietary cocoa inhibits colitis associated cancer: a crucial involvement of the IL-6/STAT3 pathway.
TLDR
It is concluded that cocoa may be a potential agent in the prevention and treatment of CAC because it suppresses CAC tumorigenesis, and its antitumor effect is partly mediated by limiting IL-6/STAT3 activation. Expand
The AOM/DSS murine model for the study of colon carcinogenesis: From pathways to diagnosis and therapy studies
TLDR
Because of its high reproducibility and potency, as well as the simple and affordable mode of application, the AOM/DSS has become an outstanding model for studying colon carcinogenesis and a powerful platform for chemopreventive intervention studies. Expand
Modulation of Colitis-associated Colon Tumorigenesis by Baicalein and Betaine
TLDR
The current understanding of modulation of colitis-associated colon tumorigenesis by two natural products, baicalein and betaine, which have anti-inflammatory activities are summarized and applicable to the prevention of inflammation-associated Colon carcinogenesis. Expand
Oxidative Stress and Carbonyl Lesions in Ulcerative Colitis and Associated Colorectal Cancer
TLDR
The current understanding of oxidative stress and carbonyl lesions in the development and progression of UC and CAC is updates and may be exceptionally important in the case of hostcarbonyl defensive system deficit. Expand
Differential response of flat and polypoid colitis-associated colorectal neoplasias to chemopreventive agents and heterocyclic amines.
TLDR
Preclinical studies in the mouse model of dextran sulfate sodium-induced colitis demonstrate that flat and polypoid colitis-associated dysplasias arise via distinct genetic pathways, impacted by the allelic status of p53, and suggest that use of combination therapy is essential for the optimal inhibition of colitis. INVESTIGATIONS ON THE POTENTIAL OF SERRATIOPEPTIDASE - A PROTEOLYTIC ENZYME, ON ACETIC ACID INDUCED ULCERATIVE COLITIS IN MICE
Objective: To investigate the potential of serratiopeptidase- a proteolytic enzyme, on acetic acid induced ulcerative colitis in mice. Methods: Ulcerative colitis was induced by acetic acid (6% v/v)Expand
Fisetin Suppresses Macrophage-Mediated Inflammatory Responses by Blockade of Src and Syk
TLDR
Results strongly suggest that fisetin can be considered a bioactive immunomodulatory compound with anti-inflammatory properties through suppression of Src and Syk activities. Expand
Fisetin: a dietary antioxidant for health promotion.
TLDR
The multiple effects of fisetin are described with special emphasis on its anticancer activity as investigated in cell culture and animal models. Expand
