The first record of Leptoglossus occidentalis from Costa Rica is reported. Additional information on the distribution of the species is given. Its possible spreading in Latin America is discussed. This is the sixteenth part of a series of publications about different Heteroptera in Costa Rica.

The article presents new data on the distribution and acclimatization of an alien species of the American coniferous bug (Leptoglossus occidentalis Heidemann, 1910) from the European part of Russia.
The rapid spread of Leptoglossus occidentalis in Europe: a bridgehead invasion
TLDR
The results show that at least two independent introductions of L. occidentalis have occurred in Europe, and showed a stronger genetic similarity of European invasive populations with the eastern North American populations than with those of the native range, suggesting that invasive North American population acted as a bridgehead for European invasion.
Potential Factors behind the Decline of Pinus pinea Nut Production in Mediterranean Pine Forests
TLDR
Evaluated potential reasons behind the decline in pine nut production in Lebanon, considering climatic factors and the invasion of Leptoglossus occidentalis, to find out how a conjunction of factors that include L. Occidentalis and Climatic factors might have affected the pine nutProduction in Lebanon.
