Six species belonging to two families of Hemichordata have previously been recorded in Chinese waters. This paper records the discovery and description of a new species of the genus Glandiceps found in Jiaozhou Bay, Qingdao, Shandong Province, named Glandiceps qingdaoensis. The new species has a long proboscis with dorsal and ventral grooves, a stomochord with a long vermiform process, a proboscis cavity with a dorsal median, right and left glomeruli, right and left glomeruli very large and…
Spengelidae (Hemichordata: Enteropneusta) from the Eastern Pacific including a new species, Schizocardium californicum, from California
TLDR
Two species of acorn worms in the genus Schizocardium are described on the basis of morphology, and spengelids appears to represent an intermediate between the enteropneust families Harrimaniidae and Ptychoderidae, and Schiz Cardium is sister taxon to the ptychodids.
Rediscovery and augmented description of the HMS ‘Challenger’ acorn worm (Hemichordata, Enteropneusta), Glandiceps abyssicola, in the equatorial Atlantic abyss
TLDR
The Romanche Trench specimen is designated as the neotype of G. abyssicola and an augmented species diagnosis is supply andylogenetic analysis of rDNA sequences robustly placed the worm in the family Spengelidae.
The Global Diversity of Hemichordata
TLDR
This review provides an overview of the current knowledge of hemichordates, focusing specifically on their global biodiversity, geographic distribution, and taxonomy.
Microscopic anatomy and fine structure of the skeleton-heart-kidney complex in Saccoglossus mereschkowskii (Hemichordata, Enteropneusta): 1. Stalk skeleton
This is the first paper of the series devoted to the microscopic anatomy and fine structure of the skeleton-heart-kidney complex in the acorn worm Saccoglossus mereschkowskii Wagner 1885. The
Biology of the Swimming Acorn Worm Glandiceps hacksi from the Seto Inland Sea of Japan
TLDR
Worm behavior and type of burrows revealed that G. hacksi are infaunal burrowers, and autotomy and regeneration of their posterior regions, and swimming behavior were also observed in an aquarium environment.

The Anatomy, Life Habits, and Later Development of a New Species of Enteropneust, Harrimania planktophilus (Hemichordata: Harrimaniidae) From Barkley Sound
TLDR
The post-anal tail, mode of development, small size and correlated simplification in body plan suggest that H. planktophilus is closely related to Saccoglossus, and together these worms may be sister taxa to the colonial Pterobranchia.
DESCRIPTION OF A NEW SPECIES OF ENTEROPNEUSTA,GLOSSOBALANUS POLYBRANCHIOPORUS FROM CHINA SEAS
TLDR
This species is closely related to G. marginatus but differs from the latter in its greater number of branchial pores, the absence of pleural marginal flaps, and the symmetrical condition of the body, of the blind sac of the post-branchial region, and of the genitalpleurac.
