  • Laparoscopic approach to inguinal hernia repair is indicated for recurrent and bilateral hernias or as patient choice in unilateral primary hernias. Totally extraperitoneal (TEP) approach has some advantages over transabdominal preperitoneal (TAPP) approach, but has proved to be more technically demanding.
