Visceral Leishmaniasis (VL) is a serious disease caused by Leishmania donovani (LD) complex and prevalent in the temperate and tropical zones of the earth. VL, endemic in the southern plains of the 14 districts in the Terai region of Nepal, is considered a major public health problem.
