This paper documents the first occurrence ofHexacola neoscatellae, a shore fly parasitoid, in Canada. The discovery of H. neoscatellae is significant because currently there are no suitable biological control agents available for shore fly control to the floriculture industry.

Afrotropical Cynipoidea (Hymenoptera)
TLDR
This paper provides identification keys to the families, subfamilies and genera of cynipoid wasps occurring in the Afrotropical region (Africa south of the Sahara, including Madagascar and southern Arabian Peninsula) and provides an overview of the biology and checklists of species for each genus. Testing a candidate parasitoid in the glasshouse: control efficacy of Aphaereta debilitata (Hymenoptera: Braconidae) against shore fly populations
TLDR
This study shows that single inoculative releases of A. debilitata can quickly establish within a glasshouse and significantly reduce crop damage and suggests that the parasitoid may represent a valuable addition to an IPM strategy for shore flies. Expand
Implementation of Biocontrol in Practice in Temperate Regions - Present and Near Future
Biological control (or biocontrol) is defined as the use of living organisms to control pest organisms. I use the term ‘pest’ for insects, mites and vertebrate pests, plant diseases, and weeds. FourExpand
LaExpand
