Market Size, Trade, and Productivity
We develop a monopolistically competitive model of trade with firm heterogeneity—in terms of productivity differences—and endogenous differences in the “toughness” of competition across markets—inExpand
Export Decision Under Risk
Does demand volatility matter for exports? How do exporting firms deal with skewed demand? A simple model of risk aversion shows that exporters react to an increase in demand volatility inExpand
Exports Versus Multinational Production Under Nominal Uncertainty
This paper examines how nominal uncertainty affects the choice firms face to serve a foreign market through exports or to produce abroad as a multinational. I develop a two-country, stochasticExpand
Volatility of the interest rate, debt and firm investment: Dutch evidence

Optimal Investment under Uncertainty
This paper examines the effect of output price uncertainty on the investment decision of a risk-neutral competitive firm which faces convex costs of adjustment.' This issue has been analyzed byExpand
Export Versus FDI
This paper builds a multi-country, multi-sector general equilibrium model that explains the decision of heterogeneous firms to serve foreign markets either through exports or local subsidiary salesExpand
Trade and Uncertainty
We offer a new explanation as to why international trade is so volatile in response to economic shocks. Our approach combines the uncertainty shock idea of Bloom (2009) with a model of internationalExpand
