We revisit the cosmological history in the presence of light moduli by including possible thermal effects in the scalar potential. The well known cosmological moduli problem regards initial energy stored in the moduli due to a misalignment from its final position during inflation. We show that finite temperature corrections to the scalar potential, in general, induce similar effects and these are likely to overcome the ones from the misalignment. This changes important parameters like the…

First photometric and orbital period investigations of four W UMa-type eclipse binaries

Abstract We presented the first photometric and orbital period investigations for four W Ursae Majoris-type binaries: V473 And, V805 And, LQ Com, and EG CVn. The photometric solutions suggested that

Effects of reheating on moduli stabilization

Moduli potential loses its minima due to external energy sources of inflaton energy density or radiation produced at the end of inflation. But, the non-existence of minima does not necessarily mean

Solar mass primordial black holes in moduli dominated universe

We explore the prospect of producing primordial black holes around the solar mass region during an early matter domination epoch. The early matter-dominated epoch can arise when a moduli field comes

LARGE volume string compactifications at finite temperature

We present a detailed study of the finite-temperature behaviour of the LARGE Volume type IIB flux compactifications. We show that certain moduli can thermalise at high temperatures. Despite that,

Inflationary constraints on modulus dominated cosmology

We consider cosmological scenarios in which density perturbations are generated by the quantum fluctuations of the inflaton field at early times; the late time dynamics involves a modulus which first

Moduli evolution in the presence of thermal corrections

We study the effect of thermal corrections on the evolution of moduli in effective supergravity models. This is motivated by previous results in the literature suggesting that these corrections could

Cosmological Moduli and the Post-Inflationary Universe: A Critical Review

We critically review the role of cosmological moduli in determining the post-inflationary history of the universe. Moduli are ubiquitous in string and M-theory constructions of beyond the Standard

Moduli vacuum misalignment and precise predictions in string inflation

This paper compute exactly the shift of the number of e-foldings in Kähler moduli inflation which is determined by the magnitude of the moduli initial displacement caused by vacuum misalignment and themoduli decay rates.

Cosmology in the presence of multiple light moduli

The generic expectation in string/supergravity models is that there are multiple moduli fields with masses of the order of the supersymmetry breaking scale. We study the cosmology that arises as a

Dilaton destabilization at high temperature

Cosmological moduli problem from thermal effects

Oscillons from string moduli

A bstractA generic feature of string compactifications is the presence of many scalar fields, called moduli. Moduli are usually displaced from their post-inflationary minimum during inflation. Their
