Automatic Fingerprint Identification Systems (AFIS) are widely used for personal identification due to uniqueness of fingerprints. Minutiae-based fingerprint matching techniques are normally used for fingerprint matching. Fingerprint matching results and their accuracy depends on presence of valid minutiae.
